Ben Affleck Biography
Ben Affleck is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who was born on August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California. He grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. Affleck’s parents divorced when he was young, and he and his younger brother Casey split their time between their mother’s house and their father’s house.
Affleck’s acting career began in the early 1990s with small roles in films such as “Dazed and Confused” (1993) and “Mallrats” (1995). He gained wider recognition in 1997 with his performance in “Good Will Hunting,” a film he co-wrote with his longtime friend Matt Damon. Affleck and Damon won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film.
In the years that followed, Affleck starred in a number of successful films, including “Armageddon” (1998), “Shakespeare in Love” (1998), “Pearl Harbor” (2001), and “The Sum of All Fears” (2002).
