Chris Hemsworth Biography

Chris Hemsworth, an Australian actor, was born in Melbourne to parents Leonie (née van Os), an English teacher, and Craig Hemsworth, a social services counsellor. He is best recognized for his performances in “Home and Away” (2004) as Kim Hyde and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including “Thor” (2011), “The Avengers” (2012), “Thor: The Dark World” (2013), and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015). Hemsworth’s diverse acting portfolio also includes appearances in the science fiction film “Star Trek” (2009), the adventure thriller “A Perfect Getaway” (2009), the horror comedy “The Cabin in the Woods” (2012), the dark fantasy film “Snow White and the Huntsman” (2012), the war film “Red Dawn” (2012), and the biographical sports drama “Rush” (2013).

In 2002, Hemsworth made his appearance in the fantasy television series “Guinevere Jones” as King Arthur in two episodes. He also had brief stints in the soap opera “Neighbours” and in a single episode of “Marshall Law.” Hemsworth’s future projects include reprising his role as Thor in “Thor: Ragnarok,” slated for release in 2017, as well as in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” and its untitled sequel, scheduled for release in 2018 and 2019 respectively. He is also set to return as George Kirk in the fourth instalment of the rebooted “Star Trek” film series.
