Chris Pratt Biography

Chris Pratt, a well-known American actor, gained popularity for his performance in Guardians of the Galaxy. In 2014, he secured the second position in People’s Sexiest Man Alive ranking.

Early Life

Christopher Michael Pratt, also known as Chris Pratt, was born in Virginia, Minnesota to parents Daniel Pratt and Kathleen Louise. He grew up in Washington where he developed an interest in state wrestling. However, he dropped out of college after the first semester and experienced a period of homelessness.

Career

Chris Pratt initially had a minor role in the major film Wanted, before auditioning for parts in Star Trek and Avatar, which he, unfortunately, did not secure due to the casting crew’s opinion that he lacked the “it factor”. However, in 2009, he landed a role in Parks and Recreation, and in 2013, he was cast as the lead character, Peter Quill, in the Marvel blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy, which became his breakthrough role. Pratt was also the runner-up in the 2014 Sexiest Man Alive poll. He voiced the lead character, Emmet, in the animated film The Lego Movie, and also fulfilled his dream of being part of the Jurassic Park franchise when he starred in the 2015 film Jurassic World. Pratt has since signed a multi-film contract with Marvel.

Personal life

In 2007, Chris Pratt met Anna Faris, and the couple became engaged in 2008, eventually marrying in 2009. They currently reside in Los Angeles, California, and are parents to a son named Jack, who was born in 2012. The couple also appeared together in the film Movie 43. Pratt is a devout Christian and prioritizes his physical fitness, working diligently in the gym to maintain his weight, having lost around 80 pounds from his heaviest at 300 pounds down to 220 pounds.
