Renowned for his acting prowess, Christoph Waltz is a German television and film actor who has graced several European and American productions. However, it was his exceptional portrayal of a multilingual Nazi Colonel in the 2009 film Inglourious Basterds that catapulted him to global fame.

Born on October 4, 1956, in Vienna, Austria, Christoph Waltz had the fortune of being born into a family with a background in stage and acting. Both his parents were set designers, and his grandparents were actors. He developed an interest in acting as a teenager and later pursued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna before heading to New York in the 1970s to study method acting.

In the 1980s, Christoph Waltz made his early appearances in stage dramas and British miniseries such as “The Gravy Train” and “The Gravy Train Goes East”. He gained critical acclaim for his role as Father Maximilian Kolbe in “Leben Fur Leben” in 1991 and appeared in “Love Scenes From Planet Earth” in 1998. Before making his mark in film, Waltz was well-known for his anti-hero roles in German crime serials.

In 2011, Christoph Waltz starred in “The Green Hornet” and “Water for Elephants”. The following year, he appeared in “Django Unchained”, which earned him an Academy Award. In 2014, Waltz acted in comedies such as “Muppets Most Wanted” and “Horrible Bosses 2”, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in “Big Eyes”.
