Edward Furlong Biography

Edward Furlong, an American actor and musician, gained fame as a teen idol and won Saturn and MTV Movie Awards for his breakthrough role as John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Born in Glendale, California, Furlong’s early film credits include an Independent Spirit Award-nominated performance opposite Jeff Bridges in American Heart and a second Saturn Award nomination for his work in Pet Sematary Two. He also received a Young Artist Award for his role alongside Kathy Bates in A Home of Our Own (1993) and shared an ensemble nomination with the film’s cast.

In addition to his early career highlights such as Pet Sematary Two and A Home of Our Own, Furlong garnered critical praise for his lead roles in the 1998 films Pecker, alongside Christina Ricci, and American History X, co-starring Edward Norton. Other noteworthy titles from his early career include Little Odessa (1994), Brainscan (1994), The Grass Harp (1995), and Before and After (1996), where he acted alongside Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson. Furlong also reprised his role as John Connor in the Universal Studios parks attraction T2 3-D: Battle Across Time (1996). Apart from acting, he briefly pursued a singing career, releasing the album Hold on Tight in 1991, which was exclusively sold in Japan.
