Hugh Jackman Biography

Hugh Michael Jackman, an Australian actor and producer, has gained worldwide acclaim for his performances in major films, including action, superhero, period, and romance genres. He is also involved in musical theatre and television.
Hugh Jackman was born in Sydney, New South Wales, the son of Grace McNeil (née Greenwood) and Cambridge-educated accountant Christopher John Jackman. In 2006, fans had countless opportunities to watch Jackman on the big screen. That summer, he played a probable serial killer in Woody Allen’s comedy Scoop, and in the fall, he co-starred with Oscar winner Rachel Weisz in the beautiful The Fountain as a man who travels across three different historical periods at the same time on a single spiritual journey.
That same autumn, Jackman appeared in the dark fantasy The Prestige (co-stars: Christian Bale and Scarlett Johansson) as a turn-of-the-century magician who some suspect performs actual magic, and before winter, audiences heard his voice work in two animated flicks, Flushed Away and Happy Feet.
In 2006, Jackman revealed that he will produce and act in a film adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel.
