Jon Bernthal Biography
Jon Bernthal, also known as Jonathan Edward Bernthal, is an American actor who hails from Washington, D.C. His parents are Joan Lurie (née Marx) and Eric Lawrence “Rick” Bernthal, a lawyer who worked for Latham & Watkins LLP. Bernthal gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Shane Walsh in the AMC series The Walking Dead, and has also appeared in several films, including The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Fury (2014), and Sicario (2015).
While performing at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Jon Bernthal was discovered by the executive director of Harvard University’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training. He went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the American Repertory Theater in 2002.
In Potomac, Maryland, on September 25, 2010, Jon Bernthal tied the knot with Erin Angle, who happens to be the niece of the famous professional wrestler, Kurt Angle.
