Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg, an American actor, started his career as a musician with the band Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. He transitioned to acting in 1990 and made his TV debut in 1993, followed by his big-screen debut the next year. Born in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Wahlberg is the youngest of nine children, including actor Robert and actor-singer Donnie. His parents were Alma Elaine, a bank clerk and nurse’s aide, and Donald E. Wahlberg, Sr., a delivery driver.

In May 2001, Wahlberg founded the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation to support and provide funds to various youth service and enrichment programs. He is also involved with The Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children, actively working towards helping those in need.

Mark Wahlberg’s career took a major turn with his portrayal of troubled porn star Dirk Diggler in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights (1997). He has since gone on to achieve success in 42 feature films throughout his acting career.
