Born on August 17, 1960, in Los Angeles, Sean Penn is the offspring of the accomplished actor and director Leo Penn and actress Eileen Ryan. His family also includes his older brother, musician Michael Penn, and his younger brother, actor Chris Penn. Sean grew up in a secular household and received his education at Santa Monica High School. During his childhood, he developed a passion for making short films, often collaborating with his childhood friends, such as actors Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen, who happened to live in the vicinity of his residence.
In 1985, Sean Penn tied the knot with Madonna. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 1989. Later, in 1991, he got married to Robin Wright. Despite several separations, the couple stayed together for many years before ultimately getting divorced in 2010. Following this, Sean began dating Charlize Theron.
