Vin Diesel, whose real name is Mark Sinclair, is an American actor, director, writer, and producer. Born on July 18, 1967, in Alameda County, California, Vin Diesel is known for his roles in the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx, Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick, and many more.

Early Life

Vin Diesel was born to Delora Sherleen (Sinclair) Vincent, an astrologer, and stepfather Irving H. Vincent, an acting instructor, in New York City. He never knew his biological father and was raised by his mother and stepfather, who eventually adopted him. Diesel has said that he learned a lot about acting from his stepfather, who introduced him to the world of theatre and improvisation.

Diesel grew up in a multi-racial and multicultural community, which he credits to his love of diversity. As a child, he was also interested in sports and would often play street basketball with his friends.

Career Beginnings
